Loyal Fan From Day One
I am a huge, huge fan of the successful television drama “The Good Wife.” I’ll admit, I only started watching the series with its first episode because two of the lead characters Julianna Margulies (E.R.) and Chris Noth (Sex and the City), pictured below, are two of my all time favorite actors (and I have an enormous crush on
Mr. Big Chris Noth.)
I don’t always have the opportunity to watch the show as it is airing, so I have my trusty DVR preset to record, just in case. It just so happened that I was unable to watch this week’s episode “Dramatics, Your Honor” as it aired and was finally able to get to it last night. First I had to contend with “The
stupid Amazing Race” being recorded for the first 38 minutes of the show (I also record the show just after The Good Wife because run-overs are common and irritating on that particular network.) So there I was watching the second part of the show, it breaks to a commercial and when the commercials are over…the stinking news comes on and no more show?
I turned to my laptop in hopes of finding the full episode (who knows what I missed with the split between two shows recording and the news.) After 15 minutes of searching, I was relieved to find the full episode and began to watch from the start, just to make sure all the dots were connected and I knew what was happening. You can watch the episode from start to finish here.
I’m Not Crazy
Don’t worry, the cellular and molecular structure of my brain is functioning properly and therefore I do not confuse television entertainment for fact/real life. However, for the record…I do live vicariously through Alicia Florrick for that one hour each week.
In recent weeks I kept hearing and seeing blurbs that the upcoming three episodes of TGW were actually one long episode and had a huge ending. I thought the ending could have had something to do with one or two of the other story lines; but didn’t see THAT coming!
I was in total shock, in utter amazement! THEY KILLED off one of the pivotal characters of the show. The role of Will Gardner, played by Josh Charles ceases to exists…literally and figuratively! This major turning point (for TGW) closes so many doors for the remaining characters, but then again…it could have also gone into a stalemate, repeating scenario and we wouldn’t want that!
So long Will (Josh Charles) you will be missed but we’ll look for you in your future endeavors. Best of luck and break a leg.
Life T.V. Series Goes On
Now I am uber stoked to see what is in store for the remainder of the season. I sure we’ll all be invited to Will’s funeral, will we be introduced to his family or the sisters that Diane mentioned she need to call, how will everyone who was close to Will handle their loss of a friend, brother, lover, and business partner?
Season 6 should prove to be interesting with the continuation of Will’s death and all the other storylines that are in full swing. The show’s creators have hinted that Michael J. Fox will be returning to the show; however, they did not elaborate if it was for cameo appearances or as a regular character. Hopefully Eli Gold will relax a little and learn to enjoy life and have a little fun. Ooo ooo ooo…and then there’s the Kalinda and Carey (played by Archie Panjabi and Matt Czuchry, respectively) romance saga that was quickly mentioned to Alicia in passing. Hmm, wonder where this is going to go?
Let’s see where the new season takes us, new people, story-lines, and plots are sure to be introduced. There are a variety of ways these plots could go and it would be hard to speculate on what is going to happen next so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds for TGW family.
And that my friends is entertainment!
