So long Zig

A short while ago I made a post about being detained from blogging for a while; however, I just had to make my world stop for a few minutes to pay tribute to one of the greatest known motivators.  Although I never had the pleasure to attend any of his workshops, motivation guru Zig Ziglar’s inspirational way of life has had a lasting effect on mine.

In an effort to honor a great man, I have listed some of his “quotes” that have led me in my life’s journey (and adventures).

“It’s not what happens to you that determines how far you will go in life; it is how you handle what happens to you.”

“The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want right now”

“If you learn from defeat, you haven’t really lost.”

“Confidence is going after Moby Dick in a rowboat and taking the tartar sauce with you.”

“Unless you have definite precise, clearly set goals, you are not going to realize the maximum potential that lies within you.”

“Money isn’t the most important thing in life, but it’s reasonably close to oxygen on the gotta have it scale.”

“If God would have wanted us to live in a permissive society, He would have given us Ten Suggestions and not Ten Commandments.”

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last; well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.”

“If you go looking for a friend, you’re going to find they’re very scarce.  If you go out to be a friend, you’ll find them everywhere.”

“A goal properly set is halfway reached.”

“There are no traffic jams on the extra mile.”

“You never know when a moment and a few sincere words can have an impact on a life.”

“You cannot consistently perform in a manner which is inconsistent with the way you see yourself.”

“Make failure your teacher, not your undertaker.”

“Some of us learn from other people’s mistakes and the rest of us have to be other people.”

“It’s not how far you fall, but how high you bounce that counts.”

“When you are tough on yourself, life is going to be infinitely easier on you.”

Thanks Zig, may you rest in peace.

      Hi Cindy,

I would love to get together with you before you move to Atlanta; however, you will actually be moving closer to me as I am currently in Cincy. Although I may not comment on your blog, I do try to read your posts and have been keeping up with you and the events in life. I wish a smooth move for you and wish you a blessed “next chapter” in your life.
